I was born and raised in Philadelphia, where the surrounding architecture influenced my tastes and aesthetics.  I am drawn to industrial materials such as brick, steel and glass; pattern recognition and repetition; and the way light and shadow affect color.

As a visual medium, we naturally think of photography as a tool to tell a story – and certainly it is well suited to that purpose. But I work to create images that are more about listening and asking, and less about telling. I am most pleased when two people see the same image of mine and derive different, and singularly personal meanings, thoughts, interpretations, or emotions.
